Role: UX designer, front-end developer

The challenge

Stewart Stephenson is one of Canada’s best-selling artists that specializes in large-scale abstract artwork selling to private and corporate collections around the world on a regular basis. In 2013 Stewart was transitioning his gallery to online space and needed a system that would let him easily showcase, market and sell artworks from anywhere in the world.

The Solution

Stewart's artworks are vibrant and unique in their size and flawless gloss finish. We needed a way to show his amazing artworks and the process behind creation in a seamless manner, meanwhile giving him access and complete control over web pages and their presentation.

The Timeline

It's nearly magical to watch an artwork develop from a blank canvas to the finished piece and we wanted to capture that process, creating a hype around the next stage.

News, Exhibits, Blogs

All three were essential components of marketing efforts by Stewart and his team, so we integrated it into the website and gave him an ability to affiliate artworks and timeline stages with news and events.

Back-end control

Administrative features like inventory tracking, credit card processing and content creation were essential to Stewart's daily operations, so we gave him an easy-to-navigate dashboard with all the necessary functionalities.

Designed, crafted and hand-coded by me.
