When I joined AutoTrader in 2017, UX was a shared service buried under technology, disconnected from product and brand strategy. Over seven years, I led its transformation into a strategic, data-driven discipline that helped grow users to 26M, raised NPS to above 30 points, and positioned the company for acquisition by AutoScout24 in 2024.
When AutoTrader’s growth plateaued despite record-breaking funnel metrics, I introduced the Jobs-to-Be-Done framework to re-segment our 26M users by intent, not demographics. This shift uncovered new revenue opportunities, led to the launch of AutoTrader Storefront, and turned UX insight into a company-wide growth strategy.
